Unite Against Society is back with a brand new album! Available now online and soon on vinyl! But in case you wanted to know how it all started, here’s their story!Unite Against Society, a Belgian streetpunk band, was founded back in 1996.Four friends with a passion for punk and OI! who wanted to get out there on stage and fuck shit up while having a blast!They started out with covers of their favorite bands such as 4 Skins, Cock Sparrer, The Ejected, Smegma... The cover of the Smegma song “United” actually inspired them for the band name. They started playing live shows and had written enough material after one year to hit the studio and release their very first demo cassette. (yes, they’reare that old! :-D) The first cd “Oi!, Loud, Fast and Proud” came out by the end of 1997. By thattime, UAS were playing all over the country. Dirk Peeters from Funeral Dress promoted them big time and helped to get a lot more gigs and exposure.In their hometown Herentals, a scene of punk, oi & hardcore was developing.Next to a local pub “Silver Tree”, which was the hangout for all these rebels, there were shows being put on in the same venue near Herentals almost every weekend. More bands came up in the area such as The Jesters, Hold My Own, Upperhand,... while legends such as Funeral Dress and Hard Resistance were also hanging at the bar.In 2001, the band got signed to legendary record label Helen of Oi! and their second CD and LP “Loved By Few” was released and had a good following. UAS now started to get spotted across the borders, raking in some nice shows in Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, England,... sharing the stage with the likes of Oxymoron, The Last Resort, Discipline, Deadline, The Business, GBH, The Exploited, Evil Conduct and so much more.In 2007 the band released their third CD “Our way, released DIY. They continued to play many gigs, but things got a bit quiet in the Belgian scene around 2010. UAS took a break for a couple of years, also because the guitarplayer had moved to America. In 2018, the band attracted an extra guitar player and a new drummer and went back to writing songs. In September 2020, their new album “U.A.S” wasreleased online, with vinyl release end of year. Fresh blood, fresh sound and sharp as nails! A lot of effort was put to re-invent the sound without losing their identity. But there is only one way to find out if you like it....!
