After their briliant 2009 debut "Glorious Days" DROOGIEZ are back with their second longplayer, which conserves their typical musical style but developes their sound further to the Bootboy sound of the 70ies.
Punkrock straight out of the Pubs, the British influence is not deniable and reaches from THE CLASH to THE RUTS even to SLADE. In some parts DROOGIEZ tried to include some "handclaps", which was last heard by THE VEROS if you think of Oi! Bands. At this record the bass-lines dominate the sound likewise the clear vocals by the singers Arne (formerly into OXYMORON) and Lars (which is also member of STOMPER 98).
Their sometimes political lyrics are not-the-lyrics-all-bands-sing about, DROOGIEZ tried to dig the massacre of Utoya, they sing about their view of the so-called "Arabic spring revolution" and the "beauty ideal" of today. Well done, DROOGIEZ!

Die zweite Scheibe der Nürnberger konserviert den typischen DROOGIEZ Style des Debüts "Glorious Days", treibt diesen jedoch weiter in Richtung Bootboy-Sound der Siebziger. Punkrock aus dem Pub, die britischen Vorbilder sind unüberhörbar und reichen von THE CLASH über THE RUTS bis hin zu SLADE. Hier und da wurden sogar ein paar Handclaps eingebaut, zuletzt hatten maximal THE VEROS im Oi! Bereich damit experimentiert. DROOGIEZ-typisch dominieren die Basslinien und ein klarer Gesang, wobei sich die Sänger Arne (Ex-OXYMORON) und Lars (außerdem aktiv bei STOMPER 98) hervorragend ergänzen. Textlich kann man sich wieder auf die Jungs verlassen, erfreulicherweise findet man auf "Struggle For Existence" auch mal ein paar Strophen mit aktuell-politischem Bezug fernab von einfallsloser Pöbelei gegen "die Bösen" (setze beliebig ein: Medien, Politiker, Unpolitische, Politische?). So verarbeitet man das Massaker auf der norwegischen Insel Utoya, den arabischen Frühling oder das herrschende Schönheitsideal. Well done, warum schaffen das so wenige aktuelle Bands der "Szene"?
