West London’s The Lurkers, part of punk’s first wave in the capital and the first-ever signees to Beggars Banquet, recorded their first set of demos in a tiny back garden studio in Middlesex in early 1977, laying down three tracks in just two hours, including ‘And Then I Kissed Her’, ‘I Love The Dark’ and ‘Rat City’.
