With their follow-up album, “The Place Where I Belong,” the trio cemented their status and created timeless and important classics with anthems such as “Skinhead Not a Bonehead” and “Here I Stand.” Socially critical assessments of society and politicians alternated with a clear commitment to the “working class” and subculture.
Ox Fanzine was not the only one to show enthusiasm: “Hardly any skinhead band today manages to play Oi! punk as anthemic and rousing as Cock Sparrer in their heyday. Fortunately, there are still a few exceptions to this rule, and the English band GIMP FIST is one of them. For me, this is clearly the best record in this genre in a long time.”
