About the Author: Justin P. Moore was born in 1974 and grew up in the USA and the Marshall Islands. He has lived and worked as an artist, graphic designer, translator, and teacher in Berlin since 2001. In addition to his countless stays abroad, he runs the website www.lotusartichoke.com
About the book: In 2016, Southeast Asian Malaysia was the destination of the globe-trotting chef Justin P. Moore. For six weeks, he explored the Malaysian peninsula, Borneo, and the city-state of Singapore. Besides the country and its people, his main interest was, of course, the cuisine of Malaysia, which, like its population, is a melting pot of the most diverse culinary influences: Malaysian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Indonesian, or a magnificent blend of all of them.
As in the other volumes of his successful "The Lotus and the Artichoke" series, Justin P. Moore's recipes are often the delicious result of direct contact with the local population during shared cooking sessions or curious visits to restaurants or street food stalls. Whether in a treehouse in Borneo, on the beach of Penang, on the road, or in the Chinese or Indian quarters: exploring new culinary worlds, immersing oneself in other cultures, and direct exchange with the local population enable entry into a new vegan wonderland here.
Justin P. Moore documents his experiences and adventures, as well as the fantastic creations derived from them, in his new book. Presented in his unmistakable mix of original personal travel reports, his own artwork, innovative plant-based recipes, and Moore's impressive food photography, the fourth volume of "The Lotus and the Artichoke" is a must-have for vegan gourmets and globetrotters.
