"Cooking Without Bones", Part 4, 2009: Even more vegetarian and vegan delicacies, from simple to sophisticated, by punks, not just for punks. Published by Uschi Herzer and Joachim Hiller, the creators of the punk rock fanzine Ox, the Ox cookbook has developed into a cookbook insider tip since the release of the first book in 1997 – and not just among punk rockers. The proven recipe for success: practical cooking instructions that clearly differ from other cookbook fare in their language and are clearly and understandably written.
Also for Part 4 – the first Ox cookbook with color pages! – readers of Ox-Fanzine, fans and users of the first three Ox cookbooks, scene people and punk mothers have written down or even drawn their favorite recipes.
Part 4 of this unusual cookbook, like its predecessors, stands out for its writing style and practical applicability. It was sighted, selected, and tested by Uschi Herzer and Joachim Hiller, and supplemented with their favorite creations. Here are recipes that anyone can cook, that succeed for cooking novices and advanced cooks alike, and that whet the appetite even when just reading them, without elaborate food photography. Guest recipes come from Billy Gould (FAITH NO MORE), Barney (NAPALM DEATH), Kurt (CONVERGE), Steve Albini, Mille (KREATOR), Reimer (KETTCAR) and André & Tom (MAROON), among others.
On almost 200 pages, there are practically tested recipes "without bones", as usual with a tip from the author about which music, which band, which record best suits as a "cooking and eating soundtrack". Rautie has also contributed various illustrations again, and of course, the cover picture, like the first three books, is by Ole Kaleschke.
