Punk rock has many facets, but the Leipzig band S.U.F.F. only fits into its own category: music, fun, and doing good. The anarchic band sped through the millennium at lightning speed, made East Germany unsafe, and even made it onto the cover of the Saxon Office for the Protection of the Constitution's report. Conflicts with law enforcement are a constant throughout S.U.F.F.'s career, as is the fight against Nazis and regular entries in the Guinness Book of Records. Not least, environmental protection and politics also play a role for the committed adrenaline junkies from Leipzig-Connewitz in their 30-year existence. Follow the fun guerillas on their adventures from the Baltic Sea to Paris! It's worth it! Because 30 years of S.U.F.F. – that sounds like many hedonistic adventures, actions, and beer. But with all the fun, the band not only emphasized "S.U.F.F." (suffering) but also considered social commitment and good music, which they immortalized on a total of 8 sound recordings and 2 films, equally important to this chaotic group. In their lyrics, the up to 15-person strong group primarily dealt with the Connewitz district, which is why they didn't become widely known beyond Leipzig's subcultural scene. But hopefully, that will change with this book, after all, S.U.F.F. shared the stage with bands like GWAR, Knorkator, Beatsteaks, Exploited, Atrocity, and many more.
