'Computerstaat' or 'Nazis raus'? 'Angriff aufs Schlaraffenland' or 'Für immer Punk'? These are exactly the kinds of questions asked by musicians, fanzine writers, authors and journalists, punks, ex-punks and anti-punks. They look back at 50 years of punk and search for their most personally important song: Which song brought me to punk, which one embodies punk most clearly for me?

The anthology 'Angriff aufs Schlaraffenland' provides around 200 different answers – with one thing in common: for the authors, even after half a century, punk is still not just another music genre among many. Some look back with a melancholic gaze at their own youth, for others punk is still very much alive. In the collected texts, music is past, present and future. Punk functions as musical rebellion, break and drive. It comes as a squat, DIY label and fanzine mail order, can be theory or practice, an introduction to feminism, anarchism and critical theory, art and anti-art, dead and still alive. Only one thing it never is: boring.

While 'Angriff aufs Schlaraffenland' is dedicated to German-language punk history, the volume 'Bored Teenagers' is being published in parallel, highlighting central songs from global punk history.

Bela B, Myriam Brüger, Franz Dobler, Jan Müller, Stefanie Schrank, Gwen Dolyn, Knarf Rellöm, Julie Miess, Linus Volkmann, Hank Schmidt in der Beek, Hans Nieswandt, Detlef Diederichsen, Asmus Tietchens, Sebastian Krumbiegel, Jörg Sundermeier, Hendrik Otremba, Charlotte Simon and many more write about classics by Hans-A-Plast, Mittagspause and Mania D., post-punk from FreiwilligeSelbstkontrolle, Abwärts and Pisse, forgotten bands like Ätzer 81 and Isolierband, chart hits by Die Ärzte, Antilopen Gang, Feine Sahne Fischfilet and Die Toten Hosen, and about contemporary artists like Team Scheisse, Deutsche Laichen and Acht Eimer Hühnerherzen.

A sampler of the same name will be released by Tapete Records at the same time as 'Angriff aufs Schlaraffenland'.
